The ambitious building project at 40th Street and 7th Ave for the new Dream Hotel, Time Square, will transform the site of the old Parsons School of Design building into a newly built hotel with a sculptural silhouette and unique design elements throughout. The 120,000 square foot development will include 235 hotel rooms and a 17,000- to 20,000-square-foot retail condominium on the first and second floors. This new Dream Hotel will be a wonderful showcase of the blurred boundary between art and architecture. Wrapping the podium levels of the building on 40th Street and 7th Avenue, the sculptural driven façade envelope will extend the building’s presence toward Times Square and beyond.
The Dream Hotel group are known for their cutting edge, forward thinking designs and this sculptural façade speaks directly to those goals. UAP is thrilled and honored to be collaborating with leading creative practices Stone Hill Taylor and Meyer Davis to deliver this landmark façade.
With freedom to respond to the Dream Hotel and Soho Properties Vision without restraint, we believe the final outcome will traverse the realms of art, fashion, architecture and experience to create a site-specific façade that is contextually and visually rich and unique, resulting in a design element that links the Dream Hotel brand to the New York fashion industry, cultural scene and the energy and spectacle of Times Square.
